ARE YOU PREPARED?

Knowledge of basic first aid can make a difference between life and death, imagine a situation where your dearest child is in pain and you are at a loss of what to do!

For Example, What would you do if your baby suddenly started turning blue in the face during a meal. Would you?

1. Shake the baby
2. Hold him/her upside down
3. Give them water to drink
4. Check for any foreign objects in the mouth?

Early intervention makes a great difference.

First Aid knowledge is valuable for both you as the individual and your community. It enables you to assist a person who becomes injured in the event of an accident or emergency until help arrives.

Parent:

“I was feeding my baby of 6 months apple puree, suddenly he started turning blue on his face, his lips started turning purple, his mouth was open but no sound was coming out. I immediately knew he was choking, but didn’t know what to do. He suddenly stopped breathing. I picked him up and started to shake him and slap him on his back quite hard. He then suddenly came round but was very quiet and in a state of shock. It was a very scary and traumatizing experience one which no person should go through.”
